Biotube Cosmetic, the joint project by Germaine de Capuccini, A. Schulman, Petroplast, and the alliance of technological institutes AINIA-AIMPLAS, was one of the 5 finalists in the Bioplastics Award 2015.
The awards, which were organized by the publication Bioplastics Magazine acknowledge achievements, success and innovations in the sector of bioplastics.
The consortium of companies that Germaine de Capuccini is part of successfully developed the first 100% biodegradable container for a cosmetic product. The success was finding a compostable material to replace polyethylene, which is typical in cosmetic products flexible containers.
Other finalists include international companies such as MHG Meredia Holdings Group (USA), Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and Sharp (Japan), Tetra Pak (Italy) and Alki (France).
